Abstract

The Indo-Pacific region encompasses the Indian Ocean, Pacific Ocean, and the lands surrounding them and is considered the world’s economic and geopolitical hub. The primary definition of “Open, Free and Stable” includes principles of free trade and freedom of navigation, rule of law, and the market economy and was first used by the former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in 2007.[6] The vast region that is covered is subjected to geopolitical rivalries considering that it is the home to the world’s most populous nations, largest economies, and largest militaries. [4]. The difficulties in the Indo-Pacific stretch out from conventional security dangers to non-customary and arising difficulties. The difficulties are connected to its immense size and its weakness to cataclysmic events and Earth-wide global warming. The area is, indeed, consistently battered by catastrophic events and records more than 3/4 of the world's catastrophic events. In this project, we will analyze the region and various challenges faced by the open, free, and stable Indo-Pacific by taking the internal and external factors into consideration.
